This new vintage will coexist in the market with that of 2015, with an equally limited production and whose sales have been carried out by quota, given the reduced number of bottles available (3,000).

Coming from a free standing vineyard, centenary and pre-phylloxera, with organic treatments and harvested by hand, with care, between September 18 and 20, 2016. One of the best preserved treasures of Bodega Cuatro Rayas , 16 hectares of vineyard divided into two areas:

– In the Valladolid area (Hornillos de Eresma), the vineyard, located 718m above sea level, shows a sandy loam soil, with very light sands without edges.

– The vineyard in the Segovia area (Aldeanueva del Codonal and Aldehuela del Codonal), located at 862m above sea level, is characterized by a sandy loam soil, on whose surface of sand there are pebbles of quartzites and codons, in some zone (large boulders).

The mixture of both terrains brings greater complexity to the wine.

Elaboration: Yolk must in an inertis press. Cold macerated for three days on its burbas with the aim of enhancing the organoleptic characteristics of the grapes from old vineyards. Static racking. Fermentation for 40 days in 500-liter barrels and aged for 8 months on its lees, with bâtonnage (in the barrels). Own native yeasts.

The barrels are 100% French oak (Quercus Petraea) of extra-fine grain, with growth rings of approximately 1mm thick, with a natural drying of 36 months. The light and deep toasting at the same time, with the intention of maintaining all the varietal aromas of the grape, helping the wines with structure and volume in the mouth without detracting from freshness.

It is the most handmade and exclusive product of the winery; bottled and labeled by hand. Vinified with the aim of promoting longevity and with great potential for aging in the bottle.

A tribute wine of the 300 wine growers of the cooperative, to the name of the person who appears on their label, president of the winery for 21 years.

It is a Verdejo that represents the return to the origins of Rueda, a product in constant respect for the tradition and the natural environment of the oldest vineyards of the Denomination of Origin. Specifically, it comes from the 10 pre-phylloxera hectares of Segovia and Valladolid.
