La Seca( Valladolid).- Bodega Cuatro Rayas has chosen the 34th edition of the Sal n Gourmets—which opened this morning at the IFEMA fairground in Madrid, hosting national and international professional visitors until Thursday 21 October—as a backdrop to announce the new role of the second winemaker, Roberto L. Tello, as the brand ambassador of the cooperative winery from the Designation of Origin Rueda. L. Tello will combine this new role with his tasks as the second winemaker at Cuatro Rayas, a work he has been doing for over a decade with the Technical Director and winemaker Elena M. Oyagüe, following the lead of the renowned  ngel Calleja. The role is intended to give a new impetus to the professionalisation and dissemination of the winemaking tradition and experience of the cooperative established in 1935 in La Seca—the heart of DO Rueda and birthplace of Verdejo.

Roberto L. Tello will take advantage of Bodega Cuatro Rayas’ participation as exhibitors at the renowned professional fair that is being held this week in Madrid to carry out guided tastings and product launchings to the wide range of cooperative’s brands at the two stands Cuatro Rayas has at Gourmets—a vast space in the connecting area of Halls 4 and 6 (Stand 6J10), and a prominent location in the area ‘Los Mejores de la Gu a’ (The Best of the Guide), a space reserved for top-rated products in the latest issue of the recognised publication from which this fair takes its name (Stand 8LMG04).

BODEGA CUATRO RAYAS, ‘GREEN & SOCIAL’ WINE

Since the winery’s foundation in 1935, Cuatro Rayas’ wine project has had teamwork as a base, a special bond between winegrowers, who take care of the grape, and winemakers, who make those fruits to express their best features in the form of wine.

Concerning Roberto L. Tello, his youth and freshness result in an exceptional coupage together with his training and experience in the industry, making him a key element in the proper development of the health of Cuatro Rayas’ wines in the future, and the perfect ambassador of the green & social philosophy of the cooperative winery, which, in addition to advocate for the ecological sustainability of the natural environment where the winery carries out its activities, seeks to enhance and promote the creation of employment, social welfare, and cultural wealth in rural areas building on the momentum of the generational replacement and the commitment to a level playing field among the inhabitants of the more than 30 villages in the provinces of Valladolid and Segovia where the families of the cooperative members and their employees live and work.
