This award is added to its impressive list of triumphs, where important recognitions of British voices with international influence in the sector stand out, such as the ‘International Wine Challenge’ or ‘Master of Wine’ Tim Atkin’s scores
La Seca, 08 July 2021.- The renowned British competition ‘Decanter’—one of the largest and most prestigious of the wine sector, organised by the magazine with the same name that has a significant influence worldwide—has published the results of the 2021 edition awards, including the Platinum Medal awarded to Amador Diez Verdejo Cuvée 2015 the wine for ageing from the cooperative winery Cuatro Rayas, located in La Seca, Valladolid.
With 97 points and this new award, , Amador Diez becomes the best DO Rueda wine in this edition of the competition and is the best valued white wine from Castille and León at the ‘Decanter WWA 2021’. In this edition, 18,094 wines from 56 countries entered the competition and were tasted by 170 expert wine judges, including 44 Masters of Wine and 11 Master Sommeliers. Furthermore, the pre-phylloxera Verdejo Amador Diez Verdejo Cuvée is the most artisan and carefully wine produced at Cuatro Rayas. Among other important prizes, recently, it also received the ‘Best Rueda Wine’ at the last edition of the ‘International Wine Challenge’ competition and reached the same status last year at the ‘Brussels World Contest’. All these recognitions stand out in a list of triumphs filled with awards that certify the excellence of this wine for ageing.
