With this qualification, there are already nine Cuatro Rayas elaborations that obtain 90 points or more in the 2021 edition of the Reference Guide for Spanish wines
La Seca, August 3, 2020.- Bodega Cuatro Rayas adds a new recognition to its record by knowing the results of the Peñín 2021 Guide tasting for wines with DO Ribera del Duero.
The 2018 vintage of Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Ribera del Duero – 100% Tempranillo red made from grapes from vineyards over 40 years old and 10 months in the barrel – reaches 90 points in the latest edition of the Guide. which indicates that it has been considered as ‘excellent’ by the tasters of the reputed publication.
In the notes provided by the Guide, this wine stands out for its ‘toasted, spicy, black and red fruit, candied fruit and coffee’ aroma and its ‘tasty’ passage through the mouth, as well as its beautiful ‘dark cherry’ tone.
Nine Cuatro Rayas wines above 90 points in Peñín 2021
Recently, it was announced that eight other elaborations from Bodega Cuatro Rayas – a cooperative winery with almost 400 winegrowing partners from 30 towns in the provinces of Valladolid and Segovia – obtained scores above 90 points.
In addition to the Forty Vendimias Ribera del Duero 2018, the wines that have this recognition according to the Peñín Guide are DO Rueda’61 ‘Dorado en Rama N / V (95 points), Amador Diez 2015 (93 points), Amador Diez 2017 ( 93 points), Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios 2019 (92 points), Cuatro Rayas Forty Vendimias Verdejo 2019 (92 points), ’61’ Dorado N / V (91 points), Cuatro Rayas ‘1935’ 2019 (90 points) and Cuatro Rayas Fermented in barrel (90 points).
Among all of them stands out the score obtained by ’61’ Dorado en Rama, a premium elaboration of the La Seca winery, which with its 95 points Peñín reaches the qualification of ‘exceptional’ according to the 2021 edition of the Guide.
