The new cellar drink from the Valladolid cooperative stands out for its marked vinous character, with aromas of black fruits that refer to Tempranillo, the basis of its recipe.

La Seca (Valladolid), February 3, 2020 . Bodega Cuatro Rayas has chosen the setting for Barcelona Wine Week -the professional show for producers of the wine sector that opened this morning in the Catalan capital- to present the latest launch of the winery: ’61’ Vermouth Tempranillo.

This new winery vermouth with 100% Tempranillo character is made from red grapes selected from among the best hawthorn of towns synonymous with wine -La Seca, Medina del Campo, Pozal de Gallinas, Serrada and Villanueva de Duero- and inherits its name from the original deposit 61 of Bodega Cuatro Rayas. The selection of botanists used to compose the final recipe for this vermouth – which features a Aged for 3 months in French and American oak barrels and maceration in its own skins – has been carried out by the oenologist Roberto L. Tello, responsible for the elaboration of the last launch of the winery.

Cherry red color and vinous aroma
The main characteristic of ’61’ Vermouth Tempranillo is its frank and markedly vinous aroma , where black fruits, balsamic and spicy touches are appreciated. The character of the Tempranillo variety used in its production is easily appreciated also in its color, which presents a nice cherry red typical of wines made with this grape. In the mouth it is tasty and its sweetness has been taken care of in a special way, which is balanced with a long bitter finish.

With this new launch, the Valladolid winery expands the range of special elaborations ’61’, along with other drinks such as ’61’ Vermouth Verdejo or ’61’ Frizzante 5.5. Verdejo. Bodega Cuatro Rayas is scheduled to be sold both nationally and internationally and this vermouth will soon be available for purchase both in hospitality and in large supermarkets and specialized stores.

Professionals from the sector who attend Barcelona Wine Week between February 3 and 5 will have the opportunity to get to know the product exclusively at stand 735, where Cuatro Rayas will be presenting the different ranges of the winery’s product.
